I was thinking of putting Nora in pigtails this morning, but she's got this swirly cowlick thing on the back of her head which makes a central part rather difficult.  I could fight with it, but it require a little time and effort that she would not likely allow me.  So I did her usual daycare hairdo of pulling the front together in a little ponytail.  Ironically, though, I picked her up today and she had pigtails!  Whoever did it did a nice job and they overcame the part issue by parting it on the side so that one pigtail just had more hair than the other.  So there's a solution I hadn't thought of.

The other item is that Nora appears to have a bit of a cinnamon allergy.  She's not huge into applesauce anymore these days so I sprinkled some cinnamon into it and she ate it, but then around her mouth got a little red.  This happened once before when we were eating out and at the time we thought maybe there was something in the mystery gravy of the mashed potatoes, but then today we remembered that I had some cinnamon apples that I gave her that day, too.  And John has some other vague remembrance of a similar reaction to cinnamon.  So apparently she's allergic to cinnamon.  Just a minor skin irritation that didn't seem to bother her, but we'll probably stay away from that anyway.  Now how will I get her ot eat her applesauce?

[note to Kristina: how does your cinnamon allergy manifest itself?]

how funny! Before I was tested, I never even knew people WERE allergic to cinnamon. At this point, I only skin tested positive, but don't have noticeable symptoms. However, my milk allergy started off with red, itchy lips that progressed over time to red, itchy, puffy lips (think Angelina), and finally to my throat closing up. I would definitely take it seriously, and consider having her tested. If she is allergic to one food, there may be others, as well.

oh, as for eating the applesauce, I'd add chocolate. Well, not really. But chocolate is good. :)
