We tried on Nora's costume the other day. I don't know what child it was made to fit. The dress part is perfect, but the boot covers go up the entire length of her leg and are still baggy. She hates them anyway so I don't think we'll be using them. She was all into putting the costume on, but she wasn't keen on keeping it on for more than two minutes. Who knows if she'll actually wear it on Halloween. I guess as long as she just has the dress part on, you can still tell what she is easily.
As for me, I dug up a Medusa costume I have and was going to just modify it to be a Greek goddess to my little Amazon, but John and I are going to alternate taking her out and handing out candy, and the costume for me is just not going to be practical for when I'm outside. So I'm opting to not dress up, after all. I was talking to John about this and I had the silly revelation that Halloween is just not going to be about me anymore. At least not until she grows up and wants to go out without us. And that's fine.
In any case, here are some initial pictures I took Tuesday. I'm probably going to have to put some clothes on underneath her dress thanks to the standard Halloween weather for Western New York. And the boot covers are just not going to happen.

Date: 2008-10-24 07:38 pm (UTC)From:My mom is looking for Christmas ideas already so I suggested getting her one of those toddler digital cameras that a few companies make. She might not be able to use it properly yet, but I think she'll like it anyway.
