Mardi Gras ended well, after all
Feb. 6th, 2008 02:44 pmJohn has been kind of on my shit list this past week or so due to a variety of admittedly minor infractions. However, just when I'm ready to strangle him, he goes and does something simple and awesome.
For example, if you read my previous entry, you know I was having a craptastic Tuesday and really lamenting not being able to be at Mardi Gras this year. So I get home last night at 10 and I'm ready to collapse, and there on the table is a King Cake. And because he was being sensitive to my struggle with those last few baby pounds, it was the smallest King Cake I have ever seen. I know that sounds not important, or possibly even weird, to many of you, but to me, it's those details that matter.
I've never been all that good at the little gestures like that. They just don't spring to mind for me for whatever reason. So I especially appreciate that someone does them for me.
