So we were trying to clean out the closets in the baby's room.  We've really put way too much crap in there and I've been saying for years that we were eventually going to have to find new places for all this stuff or just get rid of it.  I used to think I was a packrat until I met John.  He's improved, but we still have a lot of stuff I'd like to just throw right out.

Anyhoo.  So there was some stuff we agreed needed to go.  One thing was a black work bag that I think I used, like, four years ago when I was working for the Cancer Society.  I was just going to throw it in the giveaway pile, but John thought to check all the pockets first.  He starts feeling around and stops with this goofy look on his face.  He then pulls out something that has been missing since we moved in here.

We've been here about 3 1/2 years.  When we packed up cds, my Police box set was too big to fit in with the rest of them.  So I knew I had put it into a different container, but I've been swearing up and down that I put it in a box or crate or something.  I think maybe I did, but then must have decided at the last minute that maybe it wasn't such a safe place for it or something.  We got here and I couldn't find it anywhere.  We searched everything and even when we were completely unpacked, it still never turned up.  I asked every person I could think of that borrows cds from me on occasion if they possibly borrowed it, but no such luck.  I then started to think that maybe if something was laying around the hallway of my apartment building that someone snatched it.  Eventually, I went and bought a used one on e-bay.

So what does John pull out of this bag?  The Police box set, of course.  I can't even begin to tell you the shock and awe we both felt.  We just stood there speechless for a very extended period of time.  Unbelievable.

But speaking of shock, we wandered around Babies R Us last night and I was about to have a heart attack adding up the costs of the stuff we have to get.  Eek.  I picked up a copy of Baby Bargains at Barnes and Noble based on several recommendations.  And I plan to do some research online.  Fun, fun, fun.
