i was really, really tired since my evil allergies have been keeping me awake at night and yesterday was one of three 12 hour work days i have this week. i should have called in, at least for the morning portion and just gone in for my evening clients. i was beginning to think that i should have called in for those appointments, too, since none of them were coming in. my last one finally did and i at least got to spend the extra time listening to the sabres game online.
so at last my day was finally over and i was ready to go. i was packing things up and the last thing i had to do was blow out the candles. i'm a therapist. we burn candles in our offices. it's what we do. the ones i'm burning currently are rather large, mardi gras colored ones i got from julie for christmas. they burn slowly and seem to be lasting forever so that's a good thing. but they have a large flame and create a LOT of wax. i heaved a hefty breath at the first one so as to prevent the lingering smoke of a smoldering wick. um, except that i then wound up blowing wax all over the wall behind it.
shit.
so i turned my computer back on and put the game back on and spent about 20 minutes using a plastic spoon to scrape wax off the wall because i knew i'd get my ass handed to me otherwise. you can still sorta see the spots, but it's a huge improvement over the green wax that was just about everywhere.
it was a real bonehead move on my part.
------
however, the sabres are up 2-0 in this round of the playoffs against the number 1 team.
AND i had birthday presents waiting for me when i got home, including gift cards from john's family, a flying spaghetti monster t-shirt from julie, and the best (also from julie), that being the new Tool cd with built in stereoscopic lenses to be used on their artwork to create an awesome 3-D effect. it's the coolest!
AND because of the 12-hour days, i had today off and got to sleep in and ward off the cold that wants to join the allergies.
