Things that annoy me today
Mar. 27th, 2006 05:46 pm1) went to the big fundraising dinner for my former agency as i was the invited guest of my old clubhouse's Youth of the Year. nice enough function. former boss lady never looks happy to see me so that's always fun. but i found it very irritating that the families of the children involved were seated way in the back. sure, they didn't pay the $150 a plate that the board members did, but they shouldn't have to sneak up front to take pictures of their children.
2) vet bills. beezley has been limping so we mentioned it this morning when we took him in for his regular heartworm test. they thought they should keep him for x-rays. i reluctantly said okay, adding the numbers in my head. it's a good thing we did. he's not quite 3 yet, but he's definitely heading towards hip displaysia, a wonderful common feature in labs, rather than the sprain i assumed it to be. so heartworm test, x-rays, anesthesia, medications = nearly $600. i went in late today after picking the beeze up to make sure he was okay from the anesthesia and spent the time looking up pet health insurance plans. i kid you not.
3) so then i came in for my evening appointments. the folks i have scheduled for 6:30 i used to have at 4:30 on a different day, but they had to switch to mondays. they goofed and showed up at 4:30. i really wanted to take them, but watch this be the day that my regular 4:30, whose attendance has been bad enough lately that probation is probably going to place him in residential care soon, actually shows up. so i had to turn them away until 6:30. so the 4:30 didn't show. and the 5:30 that i was supposed to be meeting with so her current counselor could transfer her to me now that she's going on maternity leave is in detention, probably headed for residential care.
4) the person through the city that coordinates this program is making me kind of nutty. i could do an entire journal entry on that, but i'd rather not. let me just leave that one alone right now.
time to eat my dinner before the 6:30 people come back.
