Mundane complaints of the day
Jan. 11th, 2005 10:57 pmwhy is it so hard to find a damn coat rack? target had one and only one. it got broken within a week so we took it back. so where else to find one? wal-mart seemed the obvious choice, but after scouring every possible section we could think of, we finally found an "associate" to ask who informed us that they don't carry them. grrr. we eventually found one at linens 'n' things, but this doesn't seem much more sturdy than the one from target. my mom then mentioned that she saw a sturdy one at oak express that wasn't overly expensive. so hopefully that lead will pan out. who knew they were such a rarity anymore?
stupid boss moment. we had a very small statistical report due to NY on the 10th for the program i direct. my staff person and i gathered the case information that they needed and passed it along to my boss, who needed to gather the financial information and e-mail the whole thing back to NY by the 10th. i was out for a training on the 10th so i checked my work e-mail from home around 6. panic e-mail from NY wanting to know where their stats were. so i sent them my half and then dropped a line to the boss letting her know that she just needs to send the financial portion. went to dinner, watched "Kill Bill," sorted through a bazillion digital pictures that need printing, and checked the e-mail once more. two back from the boss. one demanding to know why i would do that when they were supposed to be sent together and so on. the next, which was sent about 10-15 minutes after the first, semi apologized for the first and chastised me more politely for not checking with her first and thanked me for being so "observant," which i don't think was the correct word, but whatever. i would have liked to answer her question of why i would do that by telling her that i did so that her blatant incompetence didn't bring down my reputation. and i know she was pissed because it did probably make her look bad. this all would have been solved if she had sent it in on time and had cc'd me on the e-mail she sent to NY, but i don't believe she wants me to see any of that financial info. i might have grounds for that raise she owes me if i saw it.
in any case, i have a second interview at Community Missions thursday morning. still not sure i want it. dropped two more resumes in the mail this morning.
