started off the day well, picking up john's car FINALLY!!! it's a beautiful orange box.
went to work and spent 3 1/2 hours in our dirty, nasty basement picking out toys for people for Toys for Tots. people should be ashamed at some of the absolute crap that they donate and the United Way should be ashamed for passing it on. i also had to endure about 2 1/2 hours of our director of operations making jokes about what was taking so long. well, for one thing, because we're spending time digging through all the crap to find the good stuff, and for another thing, because your stupid department didn't ever sort them by some sort of category like age or gender or whatever like we believed they would. and on top of that, we had way more stuff to get than the tiny club you keep comparing us to. bastard.
ended work well with a successful parent involved potluck dinner and a chat with one of my teens who hasn't been in for quite some time, but came in specifically to sit in my office.
made a quick trip to target to pick up some gifts for john.
then came home to discover that i got totally ripped off on shipping on e-bay. my own fault really. when i put the bid in this morning there was a link to calculate the shipping, but i didn't have time to play with it because we had to leave to go get john's car. but i figured shipping a DVD couldn't be more than five bucks. right? well, i won the item and am now paying $8.85 in shipping, which officially now defeats the purpose of me trying to find the item cheaper on e-bay. and this was all because the Bourne Identity is coming out with a new version in February so finding the old version has been difficult at best, but it's what john wants for christmas. and he thought his weird swing cds would be the hard things to find.
