I think we made it through the worst part of this last batch of teething. It was AWFUL!!
Nora's got a new thing that she likes to do. I have my screen saver set to do a slide show from my saved pictures. She started watching it the other day when walking by the computer. So I sat her on my lap and told her what each of the pictures was as it came up. She is now really into doing that and will indicate her desire to get in the chair fairly often. It's cute.
Her vocabulary is increasing. We had Willie the Bassett Hound with us this weekend and she was clearly trying to say his name. Beezley's name sounds similar when she tries that. She will now point to her nose on command and can say nose fairly well. In general, she really is doing a good job of trying to mimic words we say, like cat or duck or whatever.
Today she had a toddler fork, which really was more of a spork, with dinner and she did a pretty decent job, with a little help, of scooping stuff up and getting it successfully to her mouth. John's mom will be so proud.
We seem to be Little People Central around here. It's garage sale season so we've loaded up on Fisher Price stuff and way more books than any one child could ever hope to read in her lifetime. I also got a really great Little Tikes table with four chairs from Craigslist. She's so funny sitting at the table like a grown up. We've been having snack at her table since it's not too messy.
This is my last week of the first summer session. It's been pretty hectic, but if all goes well this week, it will really pay off with six more credit hours under my belt. I have one class in the next session and it's only for three weeks. Should be interesting.

Date: 2008-06-17 12:31 pm (UTC)From:Sammy LOVES that too! But then he tries to type and makes the screensaver go away... Have you ever let her try any of these games? Sam's favorite is the train one in "Kneebouncers." Of course, once you let them one time, they feel the need to bang on the keys WHENEVER you're on the computer....
