So I'm starting a new graduate program at a new school in the fall. I was given information on who my advisor was, but that's about it. So I attempted to e-mail her back before Nora was born in March to find out if there was anything I needed to be doing at this point, but never got a response. Well, then Nora came along and I got a little busy. Early last week I attempted to call my advisor. Left a message. Never got a response. I finally got around to calling the SPA department office today and they hooked me up with the info I needed to get my ass in gear. One of the classes is already closed. Ironically, it's my freaking advisor that teaches it. It's not a huge deal since most of the classes don't need to be taken in a specific order and that one is offered every semester and I'm not even sure yet how many I really want to be taking come fall. It's just the principle of the whole thing. So then I attempted to register and I have a medical hold because I don't have my immunization form in yet and I don't have a doctor's appointment set up until a couple weeks from now as I'm changing my primary. Frick!

John's advisor is like that, too, which led to him not getting much done this semester because by the time she got in touch with him with some suggestions for his dissertation work, we had a baby that got in the way of finding time for that kind of thing. But she's a great teacher and is nationally recognized.
